HFD Announces New ISO Rating

The HFD Public Protection Classification (PPC) is 03/3X

Insurance Services Office (ISO) develops community fire protection ratings known as Property Protection Class (PPC). Most insurance carriers use PPC information to help establish fair premiums for property insurance. PPC provides the community with a valuable benchmark of emergency service levels. The ratings factor Community Risk Reduction, Water Supply Systems, Fire Suppression Capabilities, and Emergency Communication. When a community’s PPC improves, the premiums insurers charge may decrease.

The Highlands Fire District is pleased to announce that on April 1, 2023, the district’s PPC improved. Our PPC rating is 03/3X, which is a split classification rating. PPC 3 is applied to properties within the district located within 5 road miles from a fire station and within 1,000 feet of a credible water supply. PPC 3X is applied to properties with 5 road miles from a fire station, but beyond 1,000 feet of a credible water supply. Contact your property insurance carrier to inquire about your rates with this improved rating.
