The Highlands Fire District has a firewood assistance program for district residents that cannot obtain their own firewood supply for the winter. The wood is sourced from trees that were removed during fuels reduction projects throughout the Highlands Fire District. That wood is split into firewood to assist out Fire District residents in need.

The Highlands Fire District occasionally will have a surplus of wood chips for district residents that are a result of fuels reduction projects.
